VISION
· . To be a leading organization in developing and empowering orphans and vulnerable children and youths.
MISSION
· To contribute to a situation in which disadvantaged children’s spiritual, social, physical, mental, emotional and psychological needs are met in a holistic approach as we believe that each child has a right to live his/her life to its fullness.
GOALS
Children and youths who are orphans, affected and infected by HIV and AIDS encounter a number of difficulties, so our goal is to:
· Provide effective support and counseling
The support includes:
· Income generating projects
· Helping in paying for school fees
· Helping in overcoming obstacles to development.
· Helping in building up of their self-esteem.
· Instilling a sense of belonging and eliminating identity crises.
· Having influential leaders for tomorrow.
· Building the nation economically and socially.
OBJECTIVES
· To establish a training and capacity building unit to train practitioners in counseling and how to run projects.
· To establish a resource center for developmental tools.
· To initiate the implementation of support groups for children living with HIV.
· To increase access to treatment, care and psycho social support and provide a forum for exchange of information, experience and advice with regard to various disabilities, HIV and AIDS for 1000 affected children, their families and community by December 2015.
· To improve awareness of child rights including child participation to at least 2000 community members in Bulawayo by December 2015.
· To reduce vulnerability and dependency for 1000 OVC in Bulawayo District by December 2015.
· To increase access to education for at least 1000 orphans by December 2015.
ACTIVITIES
¨ The project shall run a business connect center which will consist of more than one business.
¨ Operating a resource center (s) that provides information and social network facilities.
¨ Establish a team of facilitators consist of full time staff members and trained volunteers.
¨ Working with children in the communities, schools, day care centers, kids clubs, churches and HIV support groups.
¨ Awareness raising meetings and campaigns held at grassroots level promote the concept and need for HIV support groups.
¨ Conducting research in impact assessment of peer counseling and the issues faced by children and adolescents
¨ Setting up support groups for youths living with HIV.
¨ To provide relevant information, utilizing the use of internet, producing news later, books, pamphlets and printing t-shirts.
¨ To have a talk show that will be showcased on air.
¨ To use art initiatives as tools for therapeutic exercise.
¨ To teach/ train visual art and other vocational training skills.
¨ Consultant in coaching, training and education on life skills and leadership programs
